PAGE 5 - Money as energy: healing your relationship with abundance

Money. The word alone can make your nervous system clench. We want it, chase it, fear it, avoid it, spend it too fast, and judge people who have too much of it, all before breakfast. For years, I treated money like a moody situationship. I wanted it to stay, but deep down, I didn’t trust it. I’d say things like “money comes and goes” (spoiler: mostly goes) and then wonder why it never felt safe to receive more. Then it hit me: money isn’t just currency, it’s communication. It reflects how we value ourselves, what we believe we deserve, and how open we are to receiving. It’s energy, neutral, powerful, responsive.

The energy of avoidance

For a long time, I avoided looking at my finances. I’d open my banking app the way people open texts from their ex: squinting, bracing for impact. I called myself “bad with money,” which was really code for “terrified of it.” I believed people with abundance were lucky, or greedy, anything but like me. But avoidance is still a form of attention. When you fear money, you’re still focusing on it, just from a place of lack. And energy follows focus.

Money mirrors your mindset

Money will meet you where your self-worth is. If you think you’re undeserving, you’ll subconsciously repel opportunities, or sabotage them the second they arrive. If you think you have to “work hard” for every penny, you’ll find ways to struggle even when things start to flow. When I started treating money like an ally instead of an adversary, everything shifted. I began saying “I’m safe to receive.” I tracked what came in, not just what went out. I stopped shaming myself for wanting more. Turns out, abundance loves gratitude, not guilt.

Healing your money story

Most of us inherited our beliefs about money before we ever earned a dollar. Maybe you grew up hearing “we can’t afford that.” Maybe you watched stress replace joy every payday. Those experiences shape your “money story”, the energetic script you keep replaying. But the beautiful thing about energy is that it’s adaptable. You can rewrite the story at any time. Start by noticing your patterns. When money arrives, do you celebrate or brace for loss? When you think of wealth, do you feel expansion or tension? Your emotions reveal your beliefs. And those beliefs can be healed.

Abundance as a frequency

Here’s the truth: abundance isn’t something you chase. It’s something you tune into. It’s the feeling of “enoughness”, before the external proof shows up. When you move like someone who already feels abundant, generous with your gratitude, open to receive, trusting in flow, money starts to respond in kind. Abundance isn’t just deposits in your account, it’s how your life feels.  It’s time freedom. It’s aligned work. It’s peace when you check your balance.
